Baltimore, MD - Nov. 7, 2025 - Maryland Gov. Wes Moore announced Friday he is directing additional state resources to assist federal workers impacted by the federal government shutdown.
The state is making an additional $700 interest-free loan available to federal employees who are working without pay during the shutdown. So far, more than 2000 people have applied for a loan. They will now be eligible for a total of $1,400. That money must be paid back within 45 days after the shutdown ends.
Furloughed federal workers may apply for unemployment benefits in the jurisdiction where they work.... Read More: FOX45
