Glen Avenue Neighborhood Association Honors Chaverim of Baltimore at Annual Meeting
Baltimore, MD – Feb. 25, 2026 (BJL) This evening, the Glen Avenue Neighborhood Association held its annual meeting at the JCC, where Chaverim of Baltimore was presented with a community service award in recognition of its ongoing dedication to the greater Baltimore area.
The award was given in appreciation of Chaverim’s wide-ranging community involvement, spanning countless calls for assistance — from jump-starting stranded vehicles and removing fallen trees blocking major roadways, to more unusual acts of kindness, such as helping a homeowner locate a piece of lost jewelry that had gone missing in a pile of leaves while raking.
The award was accepted on behalf of Chaverim by its president Daniel Levy, who addressed the crowd and expressed sincere gratitude for the recognition. In his remarks, Levy thanked the Glen Avenue Neighborhood Association for the honor and spoke about the many services Chaverim provides to the community, emphasizing that their work is driven by a simple commitment to helping anyone in need.
Members of the Glen Avenue Neighborhood Association leadership were present, along with residents and community members, highlighting the strong relationship between neighborhood organizations and volunteer groups that serve the broader public.
The evening served as a full-circle moment of community recognition - acknowledging the behind-the-scenes efforts that often go unnoticed, while reinforcing the importance of cooperation, diversity, and mutual responsibility across Baltimore’s neighborhoods.
