Baltimore, MD – Jan. 25, 2026 (BJL) After spending the better part of Sunday on the front lines helping neighbors dig out from the weekend’s heavy snowfall, volunteers from Chaverim of Baltimore are urging residents to stay off the roads as evening sets in.
Following a full day of clearing sidewalks, assisting stranded motorists, and helping families navigate the storm’s aftermath, Chaverim reported that while the heaviest snow has tapered off, the shift to sleet and freezing rain has made conditions especially dangerous.
“We’ve been out here all day helping people get their cars out and clearing paths, but the situation on the ground has changed,” a Chaverim representative shared Sunday evening. “What looks like slush is turning into solid ice. Driving right now is treacherous, and it’s simply not worth the risk.”
