Baltimore, MD - June 19, 2025 - The Baltimore County Police Department on Wednesday unveiled a hub that provides officers in the field with the most up-to-date information in real time as they respond to calls for service.
The hub is called “Information Nexus For Operations.” Cpl. Jasmine Fleet will be one of two detectives making up the unit. Retired detectives will be coming back and civilians will help with social media.
Fleet played a video of an arrest in February at a liquor store. She said the INFO center worked with the burglary unit to help ultimately arrest the offenders.
“Typically when they make entry into a liquor store they obtain various items as well as cash from the store and were able to flee the scene,” Fleet said. “But not this day.”
Baltimore County police Chief Robert McCullough said the INFO center will enhance police safety and quality of service.
“By equipping officers with timely and actionable information, the department is enhancing both officer safety and the quality of service being provided,” McCullough said. “When a situation is evolving quickly, the INFO center serves as a platform that puts the right information into the hands of the right people at the right time.”
