The IDF early Monday morning, around 4:00 a.m., said it identified missiles launched from Iran toward the territory of the State of Israel.

"Defensive systems are operating to intercept the threat. Upon receiving an alert, the public is instructed to enter a protected space and remain there until further notice," said the IDF Spokesperson's Unit.

"Leaving the protected space is only permitted following an explicit directive. Continue to follow the instructions of the Home Front Command," it added.

The Home Front Command announced shortly after midnight on Monday morning that residents must stay near a protected space. This directive applies to residents of northern and central Israel.

“The Home Front Command has now instructed residents in several areas across the country to remain close to protected spaces. Movement in public areas should be minimized, and public gatherings must be avoided,” said a statement from the IDF.

“Upon receiving an alert, enter a protected space and remain there until an official update is issued,” it added.

While initially the directive only applied to residents of northern and central Israel, it was later extended to include all of Israel.

The IDF said, meanwhile, it is striking surface-to-surface missile sites in central Iran.

Despite the fact that no launches have yet been carried out towards Israel, the IDF Spokesperson’s Unit subsequently clarified that "in areas that have been instructed to remain in close proximity to a protected area, we emphasize that the instructions are still in effect."

On Sunday evening, a woman was moderately injured and six others sustained light injuries when a missile struck between two buildings in Haifa. Two additional people were lightly injured in a moshav in the Lachish region.

In the most recent barrage targeting Israel, 30 missiles were launched from Iranian territory.
