This intensive three-day seminar is an in-depth training program for those currently involved – or who wish to become involved – as mashgichim in the foodservice industry (e.g., restaurants, catering halls, hotels). The course covers various issues and skills a mashgiach needs in order to work effectively in all types of settings and conditions, including Shabbos and Yom Tov. Participants will also receive training and certification in bug checking.
Note: This program does not include the kashrus of factories, kashering for Pesach, or other topics covered in the Annual Kashrus Training Program described below. Women may apply to this course. There will be separate seating.

JULY 28–31: 22nd Annual Kashrus Training Program
This widely acclaimed four-day program provides rabbonim, certifying agency administrators, kollel members, and others in klei kodesh the opportunity to meet the personalities behind the internationally recognized STAR-K symbol. Attendees receive hands-on, practical applications of the Shulchan Aruch, learn how to structure a kashrus organization, and tackle real-world kashrus challenges across various venues.
Participants will go behind the scenes at a luxury hotel’s kosher kitchen and a manufacturing facility. The program also includes lectures by STAR-K administrators, audio-visual presentations, and a hands-on practicum in checking produce for insects like thrips and aphids. This course is for men only.
