Traffic Modifications for the Preakness Stakes at Pimlico Race Course

Baltimore, MD (May 13, 2025) - The Baltimore City Department of Transportation would like to advise motorists of the road closures and traffic modifications in effect for the 150th running of the Preakness Stakes which will take place on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at Pimlico Race Course.

In preparation for the event, the following road closures and special traffic patterns will be implemented:

Thursday, May 15, 2025, starting at 6:00 p.m. until Sunday, May 18, 2025, at 1:00 a.m.

Friday, May 16, 2025, from 5:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. and Saturday, May 17, 2025, from 5:00 a.m. until Sunday, May 18, 2025, at 1:00 a.m.  

Saturday, May 17, 2025, from 5:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.

Saturday, May 17, 2025, from 6:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m.

Saturday, May 17, 2025, from 7:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.

Saturday, May 17, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m.

Saturday, May 17, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. until Sunday, May 18, 2025, at 1:00 a.m.

Patrons attending Preakness festivities are strongly urged to carpool or use public transportation.  Motorists that drive to Pimlico Racecourse should park at commercial lots and avoid parking in area neighborhoods.  All posted parking restrictions will be strictly enforced, and vehicles parked in violation will be ticketed and towed.  Vehicles that are relocated during the event will be taken to Cylburn Avenue just south of Northern Parkway.  Motorists with questions concerning the location of their vehicle should call 311.

Motorists traveling in northwest Baltimore on Saturday, May 17th may experience delays throughout the day and should be on the watch for pedestrians and changing traffic patterns while driving.
