Annapolis, MD - Aug. 9, 2025  - The Maryland House Republican Caucus sent a letter to Governor Wes Moore on Friday expressing strong opposition to a $100,000 settlement approved by the Board of Public Works in a lawsuit involving the University of Maryland and Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP).

In the letter, Republican lawmakers criticized the decision, calling it “a slap in the face to Marylanders” and accusing SJP of operating as “a de facto wing of Hamas.”
