Maryland State Police are stepping up their enforcement efforts to ensure a safer Independence Day weekend.

Starting Friday, troopers from all 23 barracks across the state will conduct high-visibility patrols to combat impaired, aggressive, and distracted driving through Sunday, July 6.

The State Police Impaired Driving Reduction Effort (SPIDRE) team, a specialized unit trained to identify impaired drivers, will also be active in reducing impaired driving-related injuries and fatalities.... Read More: FOX45
