Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu held a press conference in English on Sunday following the Security Cabinet's decision to take control of Gaza. Watch here "Hamas still has thousands of armed terrorists in Gaza. They vow to repeat the savagery of the October 7th Massacre and to do so again, and again, and again. It openly professes its goals to destroy Israel. It subjugates Gazans, it steals their food, and it shoots them when they try to move to safe zones. It's instructive that now, many Gazans are fighting back. They're begging us and the world, 'Free us, and free Gaza from Hamas,'" Netanyahu opened. He continued: "No nation could accept a genocidal terrorist organization, an organization committed to its annihilation, a stone's throw from its citizens....

MK Meir Porush (United Torah Judaism), who has started a hunger strike outside the office of Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara in protest of the arrests of haredi draft dodgers, warns in an interview with Arutz Sheva-Israel National News that the controversy surrounding the conscription law could escalate into a civil war. "We are getting closer to a situation of a civil war in the State of Israel between the haredim and the secular Israelis. All this is inspired by the Attorney General. This is what she is causing," Parush warns. He emphasizes that, in his view, there is a real concern about further radicalization by the Attorney General. "I think that she intends to publish an announcement next week that haredim can't travel on the roads since the roads are being funded by the T...
A joint operation by the Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency) and Jerusalem District police has led to the arrest of a father, his son, and an accomplice from Kafr Aqab in eastern Jerusalem, suspected of planning a series of terrorist attacks against security forces and civilians. According to the investigation, the father and son — employed in central Israel — purchased firearms, explosives, and components for manufacturing improvised explosive devices (IEDs). They assembled the devices in apartments converted into bomb-making laboratories, after learning the methods from online videos. The father, who sought financial backing from a terrorist organization, was caught after selling IEDs to an undercover police agent. The explosives were intended for attacks against Jews. He had...
A Washington Post op-ed by columnist Marc A. Thiessen, on Tuesday, was titled: "Hunger in Gaza has many authors, but Israel isn’t one of them". Thiessen noted the 1,829,520 meals that Israel provided to Gazans through the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation and added that the meals are "enough to feed nearly the entire Gazan population." To counter the claims that Israel is deliberately causing starvation in Gaza, the op-ed stated that "Israel is doing something no nation has ever done, or even been expected to do: Feed the population of the aggressor force that attacked it while the war is still going on." Thiessen added: "The United States did not feed Germany and Japan while the war was going on; we forced their armies to surrender and then fed their populations." He emphasi...
Annapolis, MD - Aug. 9, 2025  - The Maryland House Republican Caucus sent a letter to Governor Wes Moore on Friday expressing strong opposition to a $100,000 settlement approved by the Board of Public Works in a lawsuit involving the University of Maryland and Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP). Read the letter here. In the letter, Republican lawmakers criticized the decision, calling it “a slap in the face to Marylanders” and accusing SJP of operating as “a de facto wing of Hamas.” The legislators argued that taxpayer dollars should not be used to fund what they describe as a “radical antisemitic organization.” The Caucus raised concerns about the impact of the payment on Jewish students across Maryland’s university system and warned...
President Trump is giving a tacit green light for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to take over the Gaza Strip, framing the move as an Israeli-owned decision amid a global outcry and growing calls in the U.S. to rein in Netanyahu.  Trump has committed to taking the lead on humanitarian aid distribution in the strip amid famine-like conditions for a population enduring a catastrophic humanitarian crisis.  But he’s refrained from criticizing Israel’s plans to escalate the war by expanding its military control of the Gaza Strip, even as international allies speak out against the operation.  “I know that we are there now trying to get people fed. … As far as the rest of it, I really can’t say. That’s going to be pretty m...
Baltimore, Md - Aug. 9, 2025 -  A man has been charged in connection with an antisemitic attack on a Jewish- and Israeli-owned business in Baltimore County, officials announced Saturday. 39-year-old Jonathon Wagner faces multiple counts of malicious destruction of property, including one charge based on race/religion. The charges stem from an incident that occurred just before midnight on August 6 in the 6000 block of Falls Road, where property was vandalized in what police say was a targeted act. The victim had Israeli flags displayed outside the property, and investigators believe the vandalism was specifically directed at those displays. Wagner is scheduled to appear in court on October 7, 2025, at the Towson District Courthouse. Baltimore County Police are urgi...
Iran has moved its remaining nuclear scientists into hiding for their safety, after Israel in June eliminated over 30 of the scientists during Operation Rising Lion, The Telegraph reported Saturday. The remaining experts have been moved into hiding, with many now residing in safe areas in Tehran and along the northern coastline. According to the report, Israeli intelligence reportedly monitors a list of about 100 scientists, who must now choose between continuing their work despite the risks, or pursuing alternative careers. The scientists still active in Iran's nuclear program are crucial, The Telegraph stressed, with expertise in missile systems and warhead development, making them high-priority targets for Israeli forces. In addition, Iran has reorganized it...
Tu B’Av, the 15th day of Av, is a day of joy and healing following the mourning of Tisha B’Av. The Mishna (Taanit 26b) describes how on this day men and women seeking marriage would meet in the vineyards. The women – rich and poor - would all wear borrowed white dresses so as not to embarrass anyone who did not have her own. At a time when each of these women was seeking her own happiness, she acted in a way that would help others find theirs. This exquisite sensitivity was not only critical to the future of the families they hoped to build; it was essential to the national recovery from Churban and was part of the joy and healing of Tu B’Av. The Beit Hamikdash was destroyed because of sinat chinam, vain hatred, as demonstrated in the classic story of Kamtza uBar K...

Much has been written about the relatively minor differences between the Aseres Hadibros given by Hashem in Parshas Yisro and those repeated in this week’s Parsha.  Some of the commentaries add beautiful thoughts and reasons for these distinctions.  Nevertheless, we cannot lose sight of the fact that in something as significant as the Aseres Hadibros, each word, each letter requires the utmost concentration in study and analysis so that any slight changes are not glossed over or Chas V'Shalom, lost on us.  In the final commandment, Lo Sachmod, there are three such changes.  First, in this week’s Parsha we are told initially “not to covet your neighbor’s wife and not to desire your friend’s house”. (Vaeschanan, 5:18) In Yisro how...
