When Israeli strikes hit Iran on June 13, it wasn’t only nuclear sites and senior Iranian commanders that were taken out: A covert army of bots meddling in British politics went dark, too. That’s according to Cyabra, a Tel Aviv-based disinformation detection company that uncovered the operation. For 16 days, the network — which began operating in May — vanished, according to Cyabra’s report published last week. No posts, no replies, no trace of the 1,300 fake profiles that had posed as British users and fueled online debate around Scottish independence, Brexit and institutional collapse. The accounts had already reached more than 200 million people through over 3,000 posts, the company said. When the network returned after Iranian communication w...
Following the directive of the spiritual leader of the Degel HaTorah faction of United Torah Judaism (UTJ), Rabbi Dov Lando, the party announced on Monday evening that it and its three MKs will leave the government and the coalition. “Following the directive of our revered leader, Rabbi Lando, and in light of the Draft Law presented tonight to the Haredi Knesset members - which deviates from the agreements and promises made by Likud and the coalition - Degel HaTorah will withdraw from the coalition and the government,” the party stated. “In his conversation this evening with Degel HaTorah’s Knesset members, Rabbi Lando emphasized the great responsibility resting on their shoulders and the sanctification of God’s name through their unwavering defense of Torah...
All three commissioners of the United Nations Human Rights Council’s permanent inquiry against Israel announced their resignations today (Monday). Navi Pillay, Miloon Kothari, and Chris Sidoti all announced their resignations from the Independent International Commission of Inquiry on the Occupied Palestinian Territory, including East Jerusalem, and Israel. Pillay cited “age, medical issues, and the weight of several other commitments.” The sudden resignation of all three officials follows the US decision to impose sanctions on UN Special Rapporteur Francesca Albanese, another UN official with a history of extreme anti-Israel statements, including denying Israel the right to self-defense against Hamas. Anne Bayefsky, Director, Touro Institute on Human Rights and the Ho...
Palestinian Arab sources quoted in the Lebanese newspaper Al-Akhbar on Monday said the Hamas terror organization is now coming to terms with an Israeli plan - coordinated with the European Union - that would allow 500 humanitarian aid trucks into the Gaza Strip without involving UNRWA. Despite this reported agreement, the sources stressed that Hamas’s position in negotiations has not changed. The group continues to demand that aid be delivered through international institutions, particularly UNRWA, the Palestinian Red Crescent, and Egypt. The sources also claimed that Israel insists on channeling aid through an American company, and on supplying fuel, diesel, and gas for Gaza’s health institutions via the Al-Khazandar company. The company’s owners, they allege...
Iran's foreign ministry announced on Monday that it has "no specific date" for a meeting with the United States regarding its nuclear program, following the recent conflict with Israel. The announcement was made by foreign ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baqaei, who stated that no specific date, time, or location has been determined for a possible meeting between top Iranian and American diplomats, according to the AFP news agency. Omani-mediated discussions between Iran and the US were halted after Israel launched surprise strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities on June 13. The US later joined with its own attacks on June 22. Baqaei on Monday accused the "Zionist regime," in coordination with the US, of "military aggression against Iran." He maintained that Iran has been "serio...
BBC on Monday released the findings of its internal investigation into a controversial documentary about children in Gaza, acknowledging significant journalistic shortcomings and editorial failures. The report concluded that the program, Gaza: How to Survive a War Zone?, breached the editorial guidelines on accuracy. The documentary was removed from iPlayer in February after it was discovered that its 13-year-old narrator was the son of a senior Hamas official, Ayman Al-Yazouri, who serves as the group’s Deputy Minister of Agriculture. According to the review, three members of the external production company, Hoyo Films, were aware of the narrator's family ties to Hamas but failed to inform the BBC. While the network was unaware of this connection at the ti...

The Supreme Court on Monday said President Donald Trump may proceed with his plan to carry out mass layoffs at the Department of Education in the latest win for the White House at the conservative high court. In an unsigned order, the justices lifted for now a lower-court ruling that had indefinitely paused Trump’s plan. The Supreme Court’s decision puts that ruling on hold while the legal challenge plays out. The court’s three liberal justices dissented. In a scathing dissent, Justice Sonia Sotomayor, the court’s senior liberal member, said her colleagues had made an “indefensible” decision to let Trump proceed with taking apart an agency that ordinarily can only be dismantled by Congress. “The majority is either willfully blind to t...

The Wall Street Journal reported that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told US President Donald Trump that Israel would resume attacking Iran if the country resumes its pursuit of nuclear weapons. According to the report, President Trump replied that he preferred a diplomatic solution, but did not directly oppose the idea. Two days ago, Defense Minister Yoav Gallant warned Iran against any attempt to harm Israel. In a speech at a ceremony marking the conclusion of an Air Force flight course, Minister Gallant said, "This ceremony is a direct message to dictator Khamenei and the Ayatollahs' group in Iran: Israel's long arm will reach you in Tehran, Tabriz, Isfahan, and anywhere from which you attempt to threaten and harm Israel. There is no place where you can hide. I...
US President Donald Trump plans to arm Ukraine with offensive weapons, two sources with knowledge of the plans told Axios on Monday, following Trump’s announcement that he would send Ukraine Patriot air defense missiles. The offensive weapons would reportedly include long-range missiles that could reach targets deep inside Russian territory, including Moscow. "Trump is really pissed at [Russian President Vladimir] Putin. His announcement tomorrow is going to be very aggressive," Republican Senator Lindsey Graham told Axios. Trump said on Sunday he will send Patriot air defense missiles to Ukraine, saying they are necessary to defend the country because Putin "talks nice but then he bombs everybody in the evening." Trump did not give a number of Patriots h...
